Now Live: Sikh Storytelling

Niara.org is live. Our first Sikh Storytelling initiative is a scholarship fund supporting students in Canada.

Why reward scholarships for book reviews?

• There's less of a barrier to writing when a subject has been established and a story already told. Hopefully reading others' work inspires us to write our own.
• We have a considerable ਖਜਾਨਾ of written material, historical and contemporary, that has not reached wide exposure within our community.  Sharing with others disseminates some of that knowledge in a scalable way.
• Written word and literacy is a gift from our masters that perhaps some of our ancestors did not have. This is a humble attempt at promoting a culture of reading and writing.

If you're a student, we encourage you to apply. In the coming weeks Niara.org will be publishing guides to sourcing books and writing about them.
